A journey of growth and learning
We are seven students from Slovenia, and we attend an economics school in Ivančna Gorica and we are in our third year out of four. As part of our educational program and ERASMUS PLUS, we had the opportunity to stay in Italy for two weeks to complete our internship at EuroProgettazione Treviso. This internship was an incredible experience that gave us the chance to apply our theoretical knowledge in a real-world environment and learn valuable professional and personal skills.
During our time at EuroProgettazione Treviso, we gained insight into how European projects are developed and managed. We learned how to plan and structure a project from start to finish, how to allocate resources effectively, and how to write project proposals. One of the most important aspects of our learning was understanding the value of teamwork. We worked on various tasks in groups, which helped us improve our collaboration and communication skills. We also learned how to present our ideas clearly and how to solve problems efficiently as a team.
In addition to our work experience, we had the opportunity to explore several interesting places in the region. We visited the beautiful and historic cities of Padua and Venice, where we admired the architecture, visited famous landmarks, and experienced the vibrant Italian culture. These excursions allowed us to relax and bond as a group, while also deepening our appreciation for Italy’s rich cultural heritage.
One of the most fascinating visits during our internship was to the Del Negro company, which specializes in the production of playing cards. We were given a tour of the facilities and learned about the process of designing and manufacturing different types of cards, including those used for poker, blackjack, and even custom-made sets. It was interesting to see how traditional craftsmanship meets modern technology in the production process.
We also visited H-Farm, a unique innovation and education hub. At H-Farm, we learned about their inspiring story, from their beginnings to their current role as a leading startup incubator and educational institution. We explored their campus, discovered the wide range of services they offer to entrepreneurs and students, and learned about the various college programs available there. It was especially inspiring to see how creativity, technology, and business can come together to create opportunities for young people.
Outside of our scheduled activities, we also had time to experience daily life in Treviso. We enjoyed trying Italian cuisine. We also learned and practiced speaking Italian with locals and gained confidence in using a foreign language in real-life situations.
Overall, our internship in Italy was an unforgettable journey. It gave us a chance to grow both professionally and personally. We returned to Slovenia with new knowledge, improved skills, and many wonderful memories. This experience helped us understand what it means to work in an international environment and inspired us to continue learning and exploring opportunities beyond our home country.
We are truly grateful for this opportunity and would highly recommend it to other students who want to challenge themselves, gain practical experience, and discover a new culture.
